Overview
Radiologic Technologist I - Inpatient Registered at Baptist Medical Center East (Baptist Health – Central Alabama). This position involves performing radiographic procedures to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries in accordance with the American College of Radiology. The technologist will work with other Technologists, Radiologists, and leadership to ensure diagnostic procedures are performed efficiently, effectively, and with high quality and patient concern.
This position may have additional duties within the scope of the role.
- Perform radiographic procedures to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries in accordance with the American College of Radiology and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with other Technologists, Radiologists, and leadership to ensure procedures are performed efficiently and with quality.
- Adhere to scope of practice and take on additional duties as assigned within the role.
- Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology required.
- Experience working in Radiology preferred.
- Active ARRT (R) required.
- BLS required.
- Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
- Must have the ability to work within rigid time constraints.
- Must remain aware of patient conditions at all times.
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires sitting 10%, standing 40%, and mobility 70% of the workday.
- Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Frequent reaching, use of hands, and repetitive actions.
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous need for clear spoken diction and hearing sensitivity in person or by phone.
- Continuous visual acuity at close and distant ranges.
- Inside; protected from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes; minimal noise levels; much exposure to computer work.
- Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock, infectious disease, and hazardous chemicals. Exposure to radiation.
- Must be able to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
