Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of CT experience, ARRT-CT certification, and strong trauma and angiogram skills.
Responsibilities- Position is based in a hospital setting with a 492-bed capacity and main Radiology department
- Handles inpatient and outpatient cases, primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric outpatients and ED cases
- Typical patient ratio is 1:1, averaging 4 patients per hour and about 40 patients per day
- Duties may include trauma, biopsies, drainage (preferred), angiogram (required), and stroke perfusion cases
- Uses all GE CT equipment and Cerner EMR
- Scheduled for 8-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; other shift lengths also possible
- Work may require floating throughout the hospital Radiology department
- Weekend scheduling varies, usually once a month, and holidays are per hospital policy
- On-call work is voluntary
- Perm staff must wait 6 months before returning as a traveler
- Mandatory orientation includes 1 day hospital overview with 2-3 unit shifts alongside a staff tech
- Scrub attire in any color is permitted
- Free parking available
- Must work one major and one minor seasonal holiday as per hospital policy
- Not open to local candidates within a 60-mile radius
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience required, with strong skills in trauma and angiogram procedures
- First-time travelers accepted if they have at least 2 years’ relevant experience
- BLS and ARRT required; ARRT-CT certification required for CT Techs
- AL state license preferred, license required if applicable
- Strongly prefer stroke perfusion experience; biopsy and drainage skills are preferred
- Experience using GE CT equipment and Cerner EMR is required
