ORTHOPEDIC TECHNICIAN
MONTGOMERY, AL

An Orthopedic Technician (Ortho Tech) will assist the orthopedic surgeons and medical staff in treating patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. This role includes applying and removing casts, splints, and braces, assisting in minor orthopedic procedures, and educating patients on post-treatment care.

• Apply, adjust, and remove orthopedic devices (casts, splints, braces, etc.).
• Assist physicians with minor procedures such as wound care, suture/staple removal, and fracture reductions.
• Educate patients on cast care, mobility restrictions, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Prepare and maintain orthopedic equipment and exam rooms.
• Ensure proper fit and function of orthopedic devices.
• Document patient care activities in medical records.
• Assist with traction setup and adjustments.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in orthopedic technology is preferred.
• Experience in orthopedic or medical settings is an advantage.
• Knowledge of anatomy, orthopedic conditions, and medical terminology.
• Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow physician instructions.
