Job Description
Fusion Medical Staffing-Radiology is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Montgomery, Alabama. Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, preparing patients, positioning patients, setting technical parameters, ensuring radiation safety, performing routine maintenance, documenting procedures, and collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
- Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
The CT Tech operates computerized tomography scanners to produce cross‑sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes, prepares patients for the procedure, positions patients with considerations for safety and image accuracy, ensures proper imaging protocols are followed, and works closely with radiologists to obtain high‑quality images for accurate diagnosis. The CT Tech also maintains equipment, keeps patient records, and follows safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure while providing compassionate care throughout the imaging process.
EssentialWork Functions
- Operate CT equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately
- Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
- Provide high‑quality images to Radiologist for interpretation
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital’s system
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities – remain stationary, move, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel with a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/motor skills – grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move equipment during procedures
- Mental requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, handle irregular activity schedules and maintain concentration to detail
