Position SummaryThe Kitchen Manager is responsible for the daily operation and leadership of the hotel kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, cost control, food safety compliance, and an exceptional guest experience. This role oversees kitchen staff, manages inventory and ordering, and ensures all food service operations meet Hilton brand standards and Flynn Hospitality expectations.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Guest Experience- Oversee daily kitchen operations for breakfast, dinner service, banquets, and catering as applicable
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control in accordance with brand standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Partner with the General Manager and Front of House to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
- Respond promptly to guest concerns and implement service recovery when needed
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen team members
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing development
- Maintain proper staffing levels to support business demand
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
- Manage food cost, labor cost, and waste to meet budget targets
- Order, receive, and maintain proper inventory levels
- Monitor portion control and minimize product loss
- Ensure accurate invoicing and cost tracking
- Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and food safety standards (Serv Safe or equivalent)
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Enforce workplace safety standards and company policies
- 2+ years of kitchen leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a hotel or high-volume food service environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices (Serv Safe certification preferred or required)
- Strong leadership, organization, and time management skills
- Experience with inventory control, ordering, and cost management
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
