The Houseman/Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of all public areas of the hotel, while supporting the housekeeping team to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role ensures that all common spaces are clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and maintain all public areas including lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms, fitness center, outside tables and meeting rooms.
- Ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met according to brand and hotel guidelines.
- Restock supplies in public restrooms and common areas.
- Remove trash and debris from public areas and dispose of properly.
- Assist Room Attendants by delivering linens, towels, and amenities.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping calls.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to management.
- Maintain housekeeping storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Support laundry operations as needed.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies.
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
- Indoor/Exterior hotel environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
