Cybersecurity Database Developer-Montgomery, AL

Summit Technologies, Inc. has a position for a Cybersecurity Database Developer in Montgomery, AL. This position is for a federal proposal that will be awarded third quarter this year. In this position, you will be responsible for evaluating DISA cybersecurity STIGs, tools and processes to identify and implement consolidation, integration, and automation opportunities. This effort will focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the cybersecurity services.

This position is located on-site in Montgomery, AL and requires a DoD/DoW Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate DISA cybersecurity STIGs, tools and processes to identify and implement consolidation, integration, and automation opportunities. This effort will focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of J-9 HaC services.
• Analyze and understand customer data requirements and specifications.
• Create and maintain automated solutions for vulnerability lifecycle management of database applications, utilizing Shell Scripting, Java, and UNIX environments.
• Create and maintain automated database reporting solutions using Extensible Markup Language (XML) interfaces.
• Implement and maintain security controls for database environments (Oracle, International Business Machines DataBase2 (IBM DB2), Maria
  
  DB, Mongo
  
  DB, Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL) hosted on UNIX environments, adhering to all applicable DoD security.
• Conduct performance tuning activities designed to optimize data management processes.
• Coordinate with Strategic Partners and/or DISA personnel prior to development, testing or implementation.
• Conduct functional testing of developed solutions; create and maintain supporting documentation; and provide Tier III application support for developed tools.
  
  Maintain the development environment and ensure compliance with all relevant security guidance.
• Create and maintain documentation for software releases supporting user base; maintain code control using the Government-defined software repository.
• Participate in normal sprint releases meeting stakeholders' timelines, as well as emergency software releases when dictated by operational tempo.
• Provide A&A for Strategic Partners.
• Complete peer code reviews as required.

Experience &

Skills:

• Five+ years of relevant/recent database management experience using Shell Scripting, Java, SQL, and XML in UNIX environments.
• Five+ years of relevant/recent cybersecurity experience including server hardening, secure configuration, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Three+ years of experience with Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.
• Strong understanding of secure system design
  , encryption, authentication, and access-control models.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools used in secure database environments.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure, development, and security teams.

Education and

Certifications:

• Pursuing Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (6 years recent experience)
• Current 8570/8140 requirement certification with Database focus

Security Clearance:

Secret Clearance required
