Position OverviewInformation Systems Security Officer (Cybersecurity Senior ISSM) to maintain responsibility for cybersecurity activities associated with day‑to‑day security operations and software development life cycles for the Facility Equipment Maintenance (FEM) system, a DOD (Joint) system supported at Gunter Maxwell AFB, AL.
ResponsibilitiesThe ISSM is the primary cybersecurity technical advisor to the AO, PM, and ISO.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring appropriate operational security posture for the assigned IT, including integration of cybersecurity throughout the lifecycle of the IT.
- Maintaining and updating AF IT cybersecurity documentation.
- Supporting the PM or ISO in maintaining authorization to operate and implementing corrective actions described in the plan of actions and milestones.
- Coordinating with the PM and AO staffs to develop an ISCM strategy and monitoring changes to the system and environment.
- Continuously monitoring the IT and environment for security‑relevant events.
- Assessing proposed configuration changes for potential impact on cybersecurity posture.
- Assessing the quality of security controls implementation against performance indicators.
- Formally reporting cybersecurity‑related events or configuration changes that impact AF IT authorization or negatively impact security posture.
- Ensuring all ISSMs and privileged users receive necessary technical training and obtain certifications per AFMAN 17-1301, 17-1305, and maintain clearances per DoWI 8500.01.
- Ensuring AF IT is acquired, documented, operated, used, maintained, and disposed of per DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 8510.01.
- US Citizen.
- Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field plus ten years of experience in the discipline, with five years in the DoW; OR bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, five years in the DoW; OR 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, eight years in the DoW. - Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Clearance.
- Hold and maintain personnel certification for the DCWF ISSM work role (722) at an advanced proficiency level per DoWI 8510.01, AFMAN 17-1305, and AFI 17-101.
- Cloud experience.
- Agile Development methodologies.
- RMF.
