SQL Developer (Back-End Focus)

Location: Montgomery, AL (Onsite – Day
1)

Type: Contract (6–12 Months)

Overview:

We are seeking a Back-End SQL Developer to support the Alabama Medicaid Agency in Montgomery, AL. This is not a dashboard or visualization role—we need a highly experienced technical SQL professional with deep expertise in SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server, and ETL development. This is an onsite role from day one—remote is not an option.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using Microsoft SQL Server platform.
• Design and develop reports in SSRS and packages in SSIS.
• Perform SQL coding for quality measures, data validation, and patch deployment.
• Assist with schema design, SQL tuning, and database upgrades.
• Create stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.
• Collaborate with analysts, project managers, and agency leadership.
• Mentor and train junior staff and analysts as needed.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of hands-on technical SQL development.
• Expertise in SSIS (2016+), SSRS, SQL Server Management Studio.
• Strong experience with ETL processes, database architecture, performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills; must be able to handle multiple projects.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with healthcare data is a plus.
