Position Summary
Network Engineer Principal (Cloud Strategy & Migration) located at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex in Montgomery, AL within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES). The role supports the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Common Services, responsible for establishing, integrating, and sustaining common engineered infrastructure and services capabilities across the Air Force’s ERP applications.
Responsibilities- Advise on and support planning, analysis, design, development, and testing of networked IT systems.
- Conduct configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and management of networked IT systems.
- Analyze and recommend cloud infrastructure requirements.
- Recommend and maintain network architecture and infrastructure.
- Analyze network workload and monitor network capacity and performance.
- Diagnose and resolve network problems.
- Recommend network backup and recovery procedures.
- Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems and software.
- Enforce rigorous application of information security and cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline.
- 8 years of experience in the relevant technical discipline, with 4 years in the Department of Defense; or 15 years of directly related experience with at least 8 years in the DoD.
- Minimum 3 years developing, deploying, or maintaining operational cloud environments (OCI, AWS, and/or Azure) with a focus on federal or DoD systems (Gov Cloud, Cloud1).
- CompTIA Security+ Certification or higher.
- Current Secret clearance.
- Cloud experience with OCI.
- Experience with Atlassian Tool suite.
- Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.
- Experience with Service Now.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.
Work Location: Onsite. Travel: 0%‑10%. Relocation Assistance: None. Contract Contingent: No.
