Consolidated Networks Corporation – System Engineer
Consolidated Networks Corporation is hiring a System Engineer with VMware skills to work on site at Hanscom AFB alongside the network and system administrator in support of the AF ITF lab infrastructure.
The ITF system engineer will be responsible for maintaining the baseline configuration within the ITF and on the DREN networks when changes are made to the baseline for all AF systems.
This position has a hybrid work schedule where employees will work a partial week from home and a partial week in the office.
Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline or MIS related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- 1-3 years of experience with networking/infrastructure best practices in a medium-to-large scale Data Center environment.
- 3-5 years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting VMware infrastructure with tasks such as host upgrades, creating templates/clones, snapshots, DRS rules, and datastore creation.
- 3-5 years of experience with Windows Server admin roles.
- SQL Database experience (familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio).
- Ability to install, manage, and troubleshoot Windows and SQL Servers, provide technical support and guidance, perform system maintenance through IIS, SQL Database, registry edits, group policy, and maintain system security.
- Knowledge of RMF process and vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent to start.
- ITILv4 Foundation within 60 days after start.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or Cloud+ within 6 months after start.
- CCNA, Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), VMware, or Azure certification within 6 months after start.
- Support and maintain the operations of the ITF IT infrastructure, including vCenter, SANs, servers, desktops/laptops, and peripheral hardware.
- Design, install, and manage VMware based infrastructure solutions such as ESXi vCenter.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with enterprise systems, working with subject matter experts and vendor support technicians as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Active Directory (user, group, Group Policy Objects, and certificate management).
- Perform updates and patches in accordance with the change management process.
- Perform preventative system maintenance on all lab equipment in accordance with references.
- Maintain documentation and diagrams of infrastructure.
- Ensure systems maintain compliance with STIGs and other security requirements.
- Work alongside other system engineers and ITF teams within the 3 ITFs to perform daily tasks associated with testing on the ITF baselined network.
- Build and maintain network and system environments as required for testing within the ITF locations.
U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET security clearance required.
