Job Summary:

Database Engineer (MariaDB & Service Now) [About the Role] Join a dynamic, mission-driven team as a Database Engineer specializing in MariaDB and Service Now. Support critical Department of Defense (DoD) environments and drive impactful IT solutions across multiple high-profile military installations. You'll leverage your expertise to optimize enterprise databases and Service Now platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and operational excellence.

- Design and implement database replication, clustering, failover, and disaster recovery strategies
- Manage database security, encryption, access controls, auditing, and compliance
- Develop, automate, and optimize database operations using Ansible, Bash, Python, or Terraform
- Support cloud and hybrid-cloud database deployments in mission-critical environments
- Administer, configure, and enhance Service Now ITSM, CMDB, Change, Incident, and Service Catalog modules
- Design and develop Service Now workflows, automations, integrations, and REST API connections
- Build dashboards, reports, and executive-level operational views in Service Now
- Maintain CMDB governance, asset management, service mapping, and configuration management best practices
- Engage with customers, document processes, and coordinate across functional teams for enterprise support [Required Skills and Experience] - Proven expertise in MariaDB administration and configuration in enterprise environments
- Advanced knowledge of database high availability, performance tuning, and disaster recovery
- Strong Linux administration with automation/scripting skills using Ansible, Bash, Python, or Terraform
- Demonstrated experience securing databases and managing compliance requirements
- Deep experience with Service Now ITSM, CMDB, workflows, integrations, and incident/change management
- Proficient in building Service Now dashboards, reports, and operational metrics
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and service management governance
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Ability to travel up to 25% - Active or eligible for DoD Secret clearance (required for employment) [Preferred Skills] - Prior experience supporting DoD or military environments
- Service Now certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, ITSM Implementation Specialist)
