Overview
The Underwriting Account Manager plays a key role in supporting the workers’ compensation insurance underwriting process by providing exceptional service and assistance to internal teams, insured clients, and brokers. This dynamic position is ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Underwriting Account Manager will be responsible for addressing complex workers’ compensation requirements, delivering well-informed, effective solutions, and ensuring high-quality work products in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee the intake and setup of assigned new business submissions, ensuring all required documentation is collected and accurately entered into the policy administration system for underwriters’ review.
- Coordinate and communicate with brokers, underwriters, and clients throughout the submission process, ensuring timely follow-up and clear, professional correspondence.
- Efficiently and accurately manage existing accounts in accordance with guidelines and directives provided by underwriters and underwriting management.
- Provide prompt, thorough, and professional responses to requests from insureds and brokers sustaining productive and positive relationships.
- Collaborate with underwriters to offer support in executing daily, monthly, and seasonal tasks.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of insured data within the company’s policy management system, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records of all tasks and work completed.
- Monitor key deadlines and track program milestones to proactively avoid service interruptions and meet or exceed internal and external goals and deadlines.
- Identify potential challenges or opportunities for enhancing program effectiveness, offering proactive solutions when appropriate.

- Knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance is highly desirable.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Property and Casualty (P&C) Producer License highly desirable. Required to obtain within first 12 months of hire.
- Post-secondary education from a vocational, trade, college, or university is preferred.
- Insurance-related coursework and/or professional designations are a plus.
- Mid-level experience in underwriting support and/or account management is preferred.
