Strategic Sourcing Manager (Project Management)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Establishes and runs projects related to sourcing needs as directed from upper management.
• Establishes procedures to accomplish sourcing a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner.
• Prepares and assigns task to team members working collaboratively with all departments.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
• Keeps informed of economic, industrial, and other trends that affect markets, prices, and delivery conditions.
• Recommends major purchases of materials based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
• Participates and leads in contract negotiations and vendor selection.
• Monitors performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments.
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
• Manages and evaluates supplier performance.
• Acts as a liaison in dealings between vendors and user departments when necessary.
• May perform duties of Buyer in new supplier start up phases.
• Responsible for Inventory Turns and cost savings projects.
