General Superintendent – Summary
General Superintendent is responsible for the overall leadership, execution, and performance of large or complex projects. This role oversees all project operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company and customer requirements. The General Superintendent serves as the primary operational liaison with customers, manages project staffing and resources, drives profitability, maintains quality and safety standards, and ensures successful project delivery from start to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all project personnel, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and maintain strong client relationships.
- Oversee project schedules, staffing, workload distribution, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion.
- Manage project budgets, profitability, job costs, invoicing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
- Conduct site inspections, quality control reviews, job walks, and troubleshooting of technical issues.
- Monitor and improve operational processes, including estimating, purchasing, scheduling, warehousing, invoicing, and reporting.
- Lead safety initiatives, training programs, operational meetings, and process improvement efforts.
- Manage project documentation, change orders, timesheets, material tracking, job closeout packages, and as‑built drawings.
- Oversee company tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory and maintenance.
- Safe project execution with zero preventable incidents.
- Projects completed on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Strong customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
- Effective team leadership, workforce development, and operational efficiency.

Pay: USD $40.00/Hr. – USD $46.00/Hr.
QualificationsPhysical and Mental Requirements:
- Regular attendance is mandatory
- Must be self‑motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image.
- Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- Must possess proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations.
- Must also have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop branch and job processes and best practices.
- Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Must possess the ability to learn and teach the Company and customer project management systems.
- Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- Prefer a minimum of three (3) years’ experience of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
- Must also have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
- Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
- Must be able to use the following trade tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4‑pair continuity tester and 5‑gang punch tool.
