Pastor of Discipleship & Administration

Principal Function

Oversee all discipleship ministries of Eastern Hills Baptist Church including Sunday School, as well as overseeing the day-to-day business affairs of the church.

• Discipleship
• Give leadership to the planning, structure, and evaluation of the Sunday School program.
• Coordinate discipleship, ministries, and evangelism strategies.
• Work with Nominating Committee in securing and training leadership within areas of responsibility.
• Plan and promote special events.
• Assist the pastor in preaching, teaching, and counseling opportunities.
• Administration
• Provide oversight and direction for the day-to-day operations of the church and its facilities and manage the business affairs of the church on a daily basis.
• Supervise administrative staff, building maintenance staff, food service personnel, daycare administration, and other support staff.
• Oversee food service programs, maintenance schedules, inventories, security, and the general upkeep of facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure that policies are developed and followed for purchasing and reimbursement.
• Provide guidance and direction to trustees, committees, and staff in legal, insurance, and organizational matters.
• Prepare and administer budgets for all areas of responsibility.
• Serve as a member of the Church Council.
• Develop and maintain an annual budget for administrative operations of the church.

• Maintain regular office hours.
• Attend and participate in regular staff meetings and retreats.
• Support and encourage staff members in their areas of ministry.
• Accomplish other duties as assigned.

• The conduct, character, and Christian deportment of this staff member shall conform to the teachings of I Timothy 3:1-7 and to the requirements set forth by this church for its deacons and staff members.
• This staff member shall strive to be spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically strong.
• This staff member shall pursue holiness through personal Bible study and prayer.

• The faith and practice of this staff member must be in alignment with Southern Baptist doctrine as outlined in The Baptist Faith and Message.
• This staff member will support the vision of the Pastor and promote unity within the fellowship of Eastern Hills Baptist Church.
• Remuneration

Salary and benefits package will be based on the recommendation of the Personnel Committee and subject to the approval of the church.
