Job Description
The Automatic Jacket Machine Operator will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.
Responsibilities- Review program specifications, work instructions, or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished workpiece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.
- Operate machine tool equipment as assigned, and load or unload material, i.e. blanks into machinery.
- As required, sets stops on machine bed, change dies, and adjusts components, such as ram or power press, when making multiple or successive passes.
- Monitor machine operation for correct feed length and ejection of parts and waste.
- Conduct first piece and in process quality inspection, verify dimensions using micrometer, template, straightedge, or scale. Record data on piece inspection report.
- Confer with supervision or engineers to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors, and to obtain approval to continue production.
- Perform minor machine maintenance, such as cleaning machines, dies, or work pieces.
- Follow all safety procedures, while maintaining good housekeeping in work area.
- Practice and support Rheem values with internal, as well as external customers.
- May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing; ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions; ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
- Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs.
- Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs.
- Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift.
- Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.
