Job Summary

This position reports to the Module Assembly and Test Department and is responsible for troubleshooting electronic systems, performing soldering of printed circuit board components, conducting routine engineering tests and detailed experimental testing, updating software and firmware, and writing and updating test procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration checks on electronic instruments.
  • Troubleshoot electronic systems to determine root causes and remedies for malfunctions.
  • Perform soldering/re‑soldering/re‑flowing of PCB components.
  • Observe and examine equipment during testing to detect specific issues such as loose or missing parts, solder bridges, shorts, etc.
  • Observe and test PCBs following repair and adjust as necessary.
  • Comply with process standards, including recording repair work on work orders and maintaining clean, organized work spaces.
  • Collaborate with team members on technical requirements within and across repairs and projects.
  • Write and update test procedures.
  • Update software and firmware as needed.
  • Work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Conduct routine engineering tests and detailed experimental testing, solving mechanical or electronic problems involved in product operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • 3 years relevant experience testing and troubleshooting PCBs to the component level.
  • Knowledge of oscilloscopes, DVMs, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment.
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic, honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4–5 years equivalent experience testing and troubleshooting PCBs to the component level.
  • IPC‑7711C/7721C Endorsement Program.
Physical Demands

The position is primarily stationary, requiring sitting or standing most of the workday. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to periodically crouch, stoop, bend, or reach across all planes. Employees must frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift or move material weighing up to 60 lbs, 0–33% of the time.

May be exposed to high noise levels for short durations; noise levels average around 70 decibels and intermittently reach 85 decibels when working near large machinery (hearing protection required). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
