Manufacturing Operator

Manufacturing Operator position in Cold Rolling Works located in Calvert, North Mobile County, Alabama
.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
• Previous experience as a Manufacturing Operator in a manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environment, including operating production equipment and monitoring manufacturing processes
• Proven experience operating forklifts and cranes in a manufacturing, warehouse, or heavy industrial environment
• Experience following very specific procedures and documenting the completion of critical steps
• Experience following strict safety regulations and guidelines for production or logistics environments
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and email

• Capable of effective communication, including speaking, writing, active listening, and taking instruction
• Adherence to health and safety regulations
• Time management
• Perform pre‑operational equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns

• Support the 1st Operator in a safe and efficient manner
• Available to work 12‑hour shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays)
• Support implementation of best practices and continuous improvement for the team
• Support maintenance activities as required by operational needs
• Attend all assigned training and pass required examinations for future positions
• Maintain environmental and safety requirements
• Identify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement
• Identify environmental opportunities for improvement
• Support optimization of operating practices and procedures
• Perform housekeeping tasks in and around equipment and machines
• Perform basic preventative maintenance of equipment and machines

• Work in extreme heat
• Climb safely on stairs, ramps, and ladders; walk long distances and navigate uneven terrain
• Work in wet or humid conditions, with vibrations and dust exposure
• Withstand elevated ambient temperatures for extended periods
• Work in high‑noise environments requiring hearing protection
• Lift or move up to 50 lbs using proper techniques
• Frequently use hand or fingers to handle objects or materials
• Work in areas with strong magnetic fields
• Perform tasks that require bending, twisting, lifting, standing, walking, reaching, seeing, moving, and hearing as needed
• Communicate using radios, phones, and/or intercom systems
• Use power and hand tools safely
• Operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment, including overhead cranes
• Wear personal protective equipment per OSHA standards (hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.)

$23.91 per hour
