About the RoleA dedicated rural healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery to lead a compassionate team that helps bring new life into the world every day. The Nurse Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Labor and Delivery, ensuring quality patient care, staff development, and teamwork across all aspects of the unit. You will guide a talented nursing staff, support continued learning, and build relationships that keep both families and team members supported through every moment.
What You'll Do- Lead and inspire a team of nurses and support staff within the Labor and Delivery unit
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of care
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety goals, and best practice guidelines
- Promote staff development, education, and community outreach for maternity services
- Support initiatives that encourage patient choice, natural birthing options, and family-centered care
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required or a commitment to obtain
- At least 5 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring - Previous leadership or charge experience
- Understanding of OR processes and perinatal protocols
- A calm, confident leadership style rooted in teamwork and empathy
