HighlightsThe Team Leader Nurse Practitioner is responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating the continuous and comprehensive management of a broad range of health services for which the certified registered nurse practitioner is educationally prepared and for which competency is maintained, with physician collaboration as described by the Collaboration Practice Requirements. The Team Leader Nurse Practitioner is responsible to the Director of Professional Practice and collaborating physicians.
He or she serves as mentor to the nurse practitioner and demonstrates consistent ability to act as a role model by providing direction in the comprehensive management of health care services provided by nurse practitioners. Thus, the primary roles of the Team Leader Nurse Practitioner are to perform as a clinical leader, facilitator, evaluator, role model, mentor, preceptor and coordinator of care and services in their assigned area.
/ Experience
Master of Science in Nursing degree required. Minimum two years of related experience required.
Note:
CVICU Nurse Practitioners require two years of ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) experience.
Active RN license required, active Nurse Practitioner license required, BLS required.
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) CertificationNeonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) certification through National Certification Corporation (NCC) required for those in the NICU.
Required Certifications (Other Areas)Nurse Practitioner certification through American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) required in all other areas.
Additional CertificationsAdditional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc) may be required based upon assigned department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of basic Windows based PC operations.

Physical Requirements
- Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday.
- There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
- Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
- Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
- Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
- Much exposure to computer work.
- Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
- Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
- Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
