Location:
Montgomery, AL (Onsite) | Type:
Contract (up to 1 year) |
Experience:
2+ years
You’ll provide comprehensive behavioral health evaluations for adults in a structured outpatient setting, with 45‑minute appointments that give you actual time with each patient. No call responsibilities, and no high‑volume productivity metrics hanging over your day.
Our client is a well‑supported outpatient healthcare organization where providers work alongside interdisciplinary care teams. The patient population is adults navigating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, trauma histories, substance use concerns, and complex co‑occurring presentations, so the clinical work has real depth.
If you’ve been worn down by 15‑minute med checks and visit quotas, this role is built differently.
What You’ll Do- Conduct comprehensive 45‑minute behavioral health evaluations with adult patients
- Assess and document a wide range of presentations, including PTSD, major depressive disorder, anxiety spectrum conditions, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia and psychotic spectrum disorders
- Work with patients managing substance use disorders and co‑occurring mental health conditions
- Evaluate trauma‑related presentations, adjustment disorders, and life‑transition concerns
- Produce clear, thorough clinical documentation
- Practice independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team
- Set a schedule that works for you, anywhere from 1 day per week up to full time (32 to 40 hours weekly is the ideal)
- Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with psychiatric or behavioral health experience
- 2+ years of experience with strong psychiatric assessment and clinical documentation skills
- Experience working with medically complex adult populations preferred
- Comfortable practicing independently within a multidisciplinary care setting
- Backgrounds that fit well include inpatient or outpatient behavioral health, addiction medicine or substance use treatment, community mental health, integrated behavioral health, geriatric psychiatry, and trauma‑informed care
This is a contract opportunity of up to one year with competitive compensation and excellent benefits available. You get flexibility in how much you work, depth of patient interaction, and a collaborative, well‑supported outpatient environment.
