Travel RN – Mother/Baby (Postpartum)

Birmingham, Alabama

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Every Other Friday–Saturday Weekend Requirement

• Perform comprehensive postpartum maternal and newborn assessments on a Mother/Baby couplet unit
• Manage and monitor obstetric complications including postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), hypertension, and OB sepsis
• Provide couplet care for mothers and newborns at a 1:3–4 patient ratio
• Operate unit equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Medela breast pumps, and Medela breast milk warmers
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR (transitioning to EPIC after August 2026)
• Deliver family-centered, compassionate care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum or Mother/Baby nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Demonstrated experience with PPH, hypertension management, and OB sepsis protocols
• Natural nails required per facility dress code; navy scrubs required

• Experience providing postpartum couplet care (simultaneous mother and newborn care)
• Familiarity with Cerner and/or EPIC EMR systems
• Compassionate, family-centered care approach with strong teamwork orientation

• Work within a well-established, accredited Women's Medical Center holding Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care, including a Labor and Delivery unit with a Level III NICU
