Health Care Director

Lead the health and wellness activities for the community’s resident population and manage day‑to‑day healthcare operations.

• Lead and supervise a nursing team, including nurses, medication technicians, and nursing assistants, ensuring quality care and compliance with regulations.
• Evaluate residents before move‑in, conduct periodic reevaluations, and develop individualized service plans reflecting residents’ preferences.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, pharmacists, and third‑party medical providers to ensure a comprehensive, patient‑centered approach.
• Oversee the medication management program, including pharmacy collaboration, audits, physician orders, and controlled‑drug oversight.
• Provide supervision, training, and competency validation for medication technicians, AMAP, unlicensed personnel, CNAs, and direct‑care staff.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and document requirements to keep the resident care department survey‑ready.
• Act as the community infection preventionist, implementing prevention protocols and monitoring infection control outcomes.
• Analyze resident care and quality indicators, and present findings in weekly At‑Risk and monthly QAPI meetings.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, evaluate, and coach resident care staff, fostering a culture of respect and fairness.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director on budget management and with the Director of Sales and Marketing on business development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current, valid, and unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of practice.
• Completion of all state‑required nursing courses for assisted living (e.g., Delegating Nurse, medication training).
• 1–2 years of nursing experience, with 3 or more years preferred; supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong critical‑thinking skills and ability to apply the nursing process for safe, quality care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work occasional weekends, off‑shifts, and respond to after‑hours calls.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds.
