Summary

The VPC Inspector will be responsible for the daily inspection and/or processing functions within the VPC Department in order to ensure a quality vehicle is being shipped to the end customer on behalf of Glovis/HMA.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect new vehicle exterior features for defects and/or damages
    • Operate IQS tablet (Samsung Tablet) and input defects found on vehicles
    • Inspect new vehicle exterior features in search for defects and/or damages
    • Be attentive to detail
    • Communicate found defects
  • Inspect vehicle according to company guidelines and procedures
    • Inspection vehicles according to the SWIS and Inspection Audit Form
    • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers
    • Communicate found defects to either online repair or the out scan team member, so that it may be entered into the IQIS system
  • Willfully perform other tasks as instructed by leadership
    • Fulfill various other roles such as driving, battery testing, tire pressure, and/or throw-in (i.e., floor mats, cargo nets, cargo trays, and owner’s manual) within the VPC department other than inspection
    • Maintain housekeeping standards
    • May have to work in other departments to help maintain daily production goals
    • Other duties as assigned

Working and Environmental Conditions

This position works in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting. The position is based in a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment at Montgomery, AL. You will be exposed to loud noises from vehicles and heavy machinery, indoor and outdoor weather conditions, gasoline/fumes, and communicate with employees and field partners primarily via phone and email.
