The Parts Quality Manager at Seoyon E-Hwa is responsible for ensuring the quality performance of automotive interior parts from development through mass production. This position leads all part quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications (OEM requirements), internal standards, and applicable automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
The role serves as the primary customer contact for part quality concerns and represents the company during audits and quality reviews. The Manager drives problem‑solving activities using structured methodologies such as 5-Why, Analysis, PFMEA, and Control Plans to ensure root cause identification, containment, corrective action, and prevention of recurrence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Part Quality Assurance & Customer Quality- Lead part quality team activities for automotive interior components
- Ensure all parts meet customer drawings, specifications, appearance standards, and functional requirements.
- Act as primary customer interface for quality issues.
- Lead customer complaint response activities including containment, sorting, analysis, and 5 panel submission.
- Monitor part quality KPIs such as PPM, responsiveness score, FTTQ, and customer scorecards.
- Support APQP activities for new model launches and engineering changes.
- Review and approve PFMEA, Control Plans, Inspection Standards, and Work Instructions.
- Ensure proper execution of:
- Process validation
- Capability studies (Cp, Cpk)
- PPAP documentation and submission
- Participate in process sign‑off and customer audits prior to SOP.
- Ensure compliance with inspection plans and quality standards.
- Establish layered process audits (LPA) and product audits.
- Drive scrap reduction and rework prevention activities.
- Serve as ISO/IATF Management Representative.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits.
- Maintain document control procedures and ensure proper record retention.
- Revise and implement Seoyon E‑Hwa part quality assurance systems and procedures.
- Strong understanding of automotive part quality requirements and customer‑specific standards.
- Experience in injection molding, assembly processes, and interior trim manufacturing preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan).
- Strong analytical and root cause problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced automotive environment.
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight production deadlines.
- Experience working in a multicultural automotive manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field.
- CQE, CQM, or Six Sigma Certification preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience in automotive manufacturing quality.
- Direct experience in:
- Part Quality Assurance
- New Part Approval (PPAP)
- Automotive OEM quality systems (Hyundai/Kia experience preferred).
