Hiring ManagerGovernance Director
Role OverviewThe Quality Team Leader supervises day‑to‑day quality operations at the new Diageo Montgomery facility, ensuring compliance with food safety, regulatory, and corporate standards across a diverse product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Assure safety of employees and manage assigned Quality Technicians on night shifts.
- Maintain daily compliance with corporate, regulatory, and government requirements, including Food Safety / HACCP.
- Provide day‑to‑day decision‑making and leadership to address Food Safety and product quality issues.
- Support the Diageo Innovation, Brand Change and Supply Optimization agenda by facilitating qualification and first production of new or modified brands.
- Develop and implement processes and programs to improve quality performance, including SPC and quality database.
- Champion the site Food Safety and personnel safety agendas.
- Lead shift operations for Quality and ensure procedures are followed to meet Diageo specifications.
- Lead Quality Technicians on assigned shifts, providing resources and support.
- Monitor activities of Quality technicians and production employees, evaluating finished product package quality, formula adherence, and approval/releases.
- Interact with vendors to ensure compliance with Diageo specifications, especially packaging components.
- Oversee non‑conforming and qualification product holds, ensuring proper processing and disposition.
- Lead assigned projects to completion, including building Quality and Food Safety systems and programs.
- 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Chemistry, or related field, or five years of direct quality experience in a bottling company.
- Strong communication, writing, organization, and analytical skills; ability to multi‑task.
- Experience diagnosing, designing, and implementing solutions in a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership and management background; at least two years of leading teams.
- Knowledge of TTB and state alcohol regulations and ISO 9001 / FSSC 22000 standards is a plus.
- Flexibility to work nights and cover weekend shifts.
