- Issue scrap reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Perform duties of Quality Technician (Production Inspection).
- Manage Quality records.
- Support ISO 9001 certification maintenance.
- Support Quality Department functions in a manufacturing business.
- Quote parts using MOM and Mapics; price and delivery.
- Communicate with JCI Customer Service and PTS Teams on field related issues.
- Perform duties of Quality Technician (Production Inspection) during production surge or as backup for others on vacation or sick leave.
- Perform product inspections at all areas:
Receiving, Fabrication and Assembly. - Interpret engineering drawings, written procedures and quality standards and confer with management, production, and engineering personnel to determine quality and reliability dispositions.
- Prepare charts from COPQ data for Quality Engineering analysis.
- Collect, collate, index and manage Quality records (DRs, ship images, inspection).
- Select products for audit at specified stages in the production process, and inspect products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
- Evaluate data and write Deviation Reports to indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
- Interface with customer service, product service, marketing, etc. to troubleshoot product issues including occasional field work.
- Provide data upon request regarding the construction and testing of the products.
- Perform internal audits to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to ensure that the facility is meeting the requirements of the standards.
- Maintain calibration of gauges used to determine product quality.
- Update controlled documents such as drawings and procedures throughout the plant.
- Complete purchase requisitions for gauges and related parts required in the shop.
- Support ISO 9001 certification maintenance when deemed necessary by the Quality Manager (internal audits, corrective actions, charts, etc.).
- Other duties and assignments as deemed necessary by the Quality Manager.
Education / Experience: Five (5) years of related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
Language ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, and/or factory reps.
Math ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area and circumference. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry.
Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of MAPICS and MOM (JCI BOM system).
Must be able to close gaps within three (3) months.
Certificates & Licenses: None required. Any ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 Internal Auditor skills is preferred.
