Lab Associate, Antibody Production and Services

Full Time Professional Montgomery, TX, US

Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $50,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

The Lab Associate for Antibody Production and Services contributes to the execution of Fortis’ antibody development and validation processes through various immunoassays. This role will primarily support the Western Blot (WB) and Immunoprecipitation (IP) Lab. The candidate must be detail‑oriented, highly motivated, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll be working in the fast‑growing and rewarding field of life sciences where employees are driven by their passion to learn and make a difference in the world.

What You Will Do
  • Perform R&D and QC experiments for the applications listed below to support our antibody development and validation pipelines using Western blot and Immunoprecipitation, Protein Simple, Affinity Purification, ELISA
  • Independently manage a work queue and be responsible for completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to approved methodologies. Perform procedures according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and/or work instructions (WIs).
  • Document and record data in accordance with QA/QC standards and be accountable for scientific findings.
  • Help maintain WB/IP Lab operations by making buffers and re dispersing materials.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of supplies necessary for the WB/IP Lab.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of product inventory in retention.
  • Support lab personnel in daily tasks associated with validation of new and existing products.
  • Be an equal team member by participating in general lab duties and chores.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management, which may not be listed above, that are necessary to accomplish our goal of improving lives by supporting scientific discovery.
Who You Are & What You Bring
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with at least 2 years’ experience in a relevant scientific field.
  • General understanding or experience with Western Blotting is a bonus but not required. Must be willing to learn scientific principles behind all techniques used.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of researching scientific literature.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, demonstrating effective time management.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior colleagues and other lab personnel.
  • Ability to work well in a team or independently as required.
  • Act as competent professional representation of Bethyl Laboratories to customers and to clearly communicate technical solutions.
