- Provide prompt, efficient, friendly customer service, greet customers and assist them by addressing by name whenever possible.
- Serve customers by escorting them to products, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, taking product orders, and responding to phone calls.
- Check orders for the day, set up a production schedule.
- Prepare, bake, fry all department products and ensure freshness; pull stale items.
- Invoice and put away product as instructed by the department manager.
- Anticipate product needs for the current and future days.
- Inspect incoming products for quality and quantity; handle mispicks.
- Maintain bakery equipment, flag maintenance issues.
- Check signage for correct labels on items.
- Review department for potential safety issues such as hot racks or knobs.
- Act as a lead with bakery clerks, prioritize orders per customer and manager requests.
- Proof necessary items and pull product from freezer or cooler.
- Practice sanitation procedures and keep the workspace clean and neat.
- Adhere to company policies, hygiene and dress guidelines, and store guidelines.
- Report to work on time when scheduled.
- Order supplies and merchandise items for the department.
- Re‑merchandise shelves and remove outdated products.
- Write the department schedule and ensure employees are on time; find replacements when necessary.
- Assist in other store areas as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- High school or equivalent; department training helpful.
- Over six months to one year of similar or related experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Proficiency in arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to copy data, interview for basic information, guide people, and provide direction.
- Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Vision from more than 20 inches to less than 20 feet with or without correction; color vision, depth perception, field of vision.
- Perform stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
This position is continually exposed to flour, noise, and temperature extremes. Frequent exposure to dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, and occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals/solvents. Fast‑paced work environment with significant pressure.

- Fryer, telephone, intercom, cash register, label machine, shrink wrap machine, RPM, copy cake machine
