Retail Sales, Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Under direct guidance and supervision, the Guest Advisor is part of a store team committed to developing customer loyalty, driving for results, and achieving individual goals. As needed to achieve success, the Guest Advisor will participate in the day‑to‑day operations of the store, principally focusing on sales and customer service activities. Guest Advisors will always act in accordance with Game Stop’s policies, practices, and core values.
The ideal candidate must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and meeting individual sales goals.
- Provide best‑in‑class customer service and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Attain individual sales objectives and goals.
- Focus on a selling culture that maximizes store profitability.
- Resolve or expedite customer concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss‑prevention practices.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (unless prohibited by applicable law).
- High school diploma required;
Associate’s or accredited Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Six months of work experience; prior retail sales or guest services experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to achieve objectives in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to follow instructions presented in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English; ability to speak and/or write in other languages is a plus.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to move throughout the store unassisted and stand for extended periods of time (8 hours or more per day).
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Walk, use hands and fingers to handle small objects or controls, reach and stretch with hands and arms, balance, bend, stoop, reach with arms and hands, kneel and crawl, talk and hear, and climb on ladders.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to look at the computer screen for extended periods of time, and the ability to adjust focus.
