The company markets its products to automotive, die mold, aerospace, energy, heavy industry, and dental markets.
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager in the greater Birmingham, AL area to join our growing team. A Territory Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing sales by leveraging industry knowledge and fostering relationships with customers. The role includes traveling to meet distributors and end users to support engagement and sales.
Job Functions- Secure orders from existing and potential customers through on‑site visits, phone, or email.
- Conduct daily sales calls to distributors and end users.
- Identify opportunities to quote on customer requirements.
- Follow up promptly on submitted quotations by phone or visit.
- Build professional relationships with key stakeholders in the ordering process.
- Manage distribution strategy with monthly sessions to evaluate each distributor and annual reviews of discounts and stock orders.
- Submit weekly activity reports on customer‑related activities, quotes, orders, and any issues.
- Enter and maintain all activity in CRM daily with accuracy.
- Provide lost‑business reports weekly.
- Train both distributors and end users on OSG products.
- Present technical solutions, test and document, and close sales opportunities.
- 1 to 3 years of sales experience in cutting tools or related industries.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management, self‑motivated, and personable.
- Well organized with demonstrated follow‑up practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must reside in the assigned territory.
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Ability to travel by air and overnight, including entertaining customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Five or more years of outside sales experience in the cutting tool industry.
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in engineering, business, or marketing.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Machinist experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- CPSP or CMTSE certification.
- Proven record of sales growth.
