Extended Day Campus Security Officers

job description: extended day campus security guard part time qualifications:

• three years of satisfactory employment experience in the security-related field
• experience in law enforcement or youth relations is highly desirable
• ability to communicate effectively with the general public
• must have a valid alabama driver's license and mps insurable driving record
• such other qualifications as may be appropriate or desired

• conduct regularly scheduled patrols and inspections of school grounds and buildings to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry
• confront unauthorized or suspicious person(s), determine purpose on campus, route or detain them, and call police authorities for assistance when required.
• assist in directing vehicular traffic and parking and report violations
• sound fire alarm to alert fire department and school personnel in the event of a fire on campus
• may assist in extinguishing fire
• assist in the investigation of incidents and make written reports of security violations
• foster a positive relationship with parents, volunteers, and other school visitors
• perform other related duties as assigned

$17.00 per hour

: for employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
