Description
The Laborer is an entry-level position responsible for maintaining clean, orderly grounds, facilities, and equipment, and for assisting customers when needed. Laborers must be able to work independently under close supervision and be willing to work in all climates. The role requires physically demanding tasks such as cleaning mud and debris from machines and washing the pad area. Basic knowledge of equipment operation—including lift trucks, aerial equipment, on-highway and off-highway trucks—is required.
The Laborer is expected to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, customer service enthusiasm, and a dedication to finding efficient solutions. Pay increases with attitude, skill level, and performance.
- Basic safe machine operation
- Identification of material handling equipment product lines
- Follows 5-Star Contamination Control procedures
- Performs shop and yard clean-up and organization as required
- Operates wash rack equipment and properly cleans equipment as required
- Keeps accurate records of all work
- Assists customers and Company personnel on the yard

Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in a Service Department shop or on customer job sites. Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position. Standing on hard surfaces for extended periods may be required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to speak, listen, write, and type effectively; reach, kneel, grasp, and stoop; safely lift up to 75 lbs.; safely climb ladders, climb under equipment, and climb on equipment.
Job Hazards: Slipping, tripping, falling, strains, heat exhaustion, job site hazards, hand injuries, equipment movement, stress and fatigue from overexertion, moving machinery, strains and sprains, cold stress.
