Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced P&C Tech 1 to fill a one-year contract assignment in the Montgomery, AL area. This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary. Candidate will be required to provide transportation to various reporting locations, minus commute.
Worker must wear EH footwear and 100% cotton clothing at all times while working in substation environment. Required PPE:
Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Gloves, Steel/Composite Toe Footwear, FR Clothing, Hearing Protection, Reflective Traffic Vest.
Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned office location. High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred. 0-3 years' experience in a controls technician or similar role. Familiar with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs. Computer skills. Basic AC & DC electrical system understanding and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with electrical industry / equipment. Good writing and communication skills.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices. Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices. Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation. Assist assigned project lead with field assignments. Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices. Install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
