Utility Field Technician

Sigma Technologies, Ltd. seeks a Utility Field Technician to collect accurate field data on power poles and telecom infrastructure for broadband and utility projects. Working primarily outdoors around Perrysburg, OH, you will locate and document poles, equipment, clearances, and attachments using GPS, mobile tools, and GIS-based systems. You'll read maps and construction drawings, capture photos and measurements, and upload data that supports engineering and network design.

Responsibilities

• Collect detailed pole and utility asset data in the field using GPS, mobile, and GIS tools
• Inspect telecom and power pole infrastructure for condition, clearances, and attachments
• Read and interpret maps, construction drawings, and utility records
• Document field conditions accurately; capture photos, measurements, and asset attributes
• Upload and verify field data for use in engineering, design, and GIS systems
• Follow safety procedures and company/utility standards while working outdoors
• Communicate with project engineers, designers, and clients on field findings
• Travel to assigned work sites and manage daily schedules and routes
