Role Description The Journeyman Plumber role at Mechanical Plumbing Systems, Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in Montgomery, AL. The role involves installing, assembling, and repairing plumbing systems, fixtures, and piping in commercial and residential projects. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, laying out and routing piping systems, troubleshooting plumbing issues, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs.

The Journeyman Plumber will collaborate with project teams, coordinate with subcontractors and other trades, maintain tools and equipment, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards. The individual in this role is expected to provide professional, courteous service to customers and represent MPS with reliability and integrity on job sites.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong plumbing skills, including installation, troubleshooting, and code-compliant repair of plumbing systems.
• Candidates should possess skills in working with pipe systems, including measuring, cutting, threading, assembling, and installing various types of piping.
• Candidates should possess maintenance and repair skills, including performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on plumbing and related systems.
• Candidates should possess effective customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to address customer concerns on-site.
• Valid Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent certification, in accordance with Alabama regulations.
• Proven experience in commercial and/or residential plumbing projects, preferably with contractors or construction firms.
• Working knowledge of local building codes, OSHA safety standards, and plumbing regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Montgomery, AL, and ability to work full-time schedules, including occasional overtime as needed.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in varied environments.
