Executive Director of Student Support Services Department:
Department of Student Services. FLSA Status:
Exempt. Terms of Employment: 12-months (240 days) 7.5 hours per day, usually Monday through Friday. Daily work schedule will be determined by the supervisor or his/her designee. Work assignments and schedules are subject to change. Annual Compensation: $90,449.00-$.

The Program Director for the Family & Community Solutions Team (FCST) provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for a comprehensive, school-based wraparound and care coordination process designed to improve student and family outcomes related to attendance, behavior, family engagement, social-emotional learning (SEL), school climate, literacy, and numeracy. The FCST is a proactive, solutions-focused problem-solving team that identifies barriers early, coordinates interventions and services, monitors progress, and aligns support for students and families with complex needs.

The Program Director leads the implementation of preventative and intervention-based systems that strengthen student wellness, academic engagement, family stability, and overall school success. This position works collaboratively with school leadership teams, instructional leadership teams, school counselors, teachers, family liaisons, community agencies, and families to ensure students and families experience success in their homes, schools, and communities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or related field.
  • Possess or eligible to obtain a leadership certification in Alabama.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in student support services, counseling, family engagement, school leadership, care coordination, or related field.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating student/family interventions preferred.
  • Knowledge of wraparound services, MTSS, trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, SEL frameworks, and family engagement strategies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and certification, preferred.
  • Experience leading school-based wraparound services, student support programs, family engagement initiatives, or multidisciplinary intervention teams in a K12 setting.
  • Experience coordinating Multi-Tied System of Support (MTSS), attendance intervention, behavior support, restorative practices, social-emotional learning (SEL), or school climate initiatives.
  • Administrative or supervisory experience supporting school counselors, family liaisons, social workers, behavior support staff, or student support personnel.
  • Experience collaborating with community agencies, mental health providers, social service organizations, and external partners to support students and families.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, crisis response, de-escalation strategies, and prevention-based student support systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Program Coordination
    • Lead and oversee implementation of the Family & Community Solutions Team (FCST) process across schools and district programs.
    • Facilitate a structured, multidisciplinary, solutions-focused approach to student and family support.
    • Lead the coordination of monthly FCST meetings to review student needs, intervention progress, and support plans.
    • Establish systems that support proactive intervention, prevention strategies, and coordinated care.
    • Ensure wraparound supports are aligned, collaborative, and outcome-driven.
    • Promote accountability, relationship-building, continuous improvement, and family-centered practices.
    • Align FCST processes with district strategic priorities, MTSS frameworks, attendance initiatives, SEL, and school climate goals.
  • School-Based Family Liaison Oversight
    • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and support to school-based Family Liaisons.
    • Ensure Family Liaisons effectively support attendance, behavior, SEL, family engagement, and wraparound intervention efforts.
    • Develop systems, protocols, and accountability measures to ensure consistency and effectiveness across schools.
    • Support Family Liaisons in implementing proactive outreach, relationship-building, and family-centered engagement practices.
  • Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) & Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
    • Lead implementation of the district's proactive Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Program and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives across all grade levels.
    • Ensure proactive behavior expectations, restorative practices, and SEL competencies are explicitly taught and reinforced school wide.
    • Collaborate with school leadership teams, counselors, teachers, and Family Liaisons to strengthen student wellness and school climate.
