Job DutiesThe Virginia Department of Veteran Services (DVS) is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as the Regional Coordinator in the VA Veterans & Family support (VVFS) department. The RC serves as the regional team lead and supports team members with care coordination consultation, regional case triage, resource development, and regional training related to resource development and best practices. The RC identifies the behavioral health, rehabilitative, and other services needs of service members, veterans and/or their dependents/family members (SMVF).
The RC works with clients to develop coordinated services plans, connects individuals with appropriate service providers, offers care coordination support/assistance, and monitors successful resolution of identified needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with military services, culture, and/or military experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of suicide interventions and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral) with clarity and effectiveness.
- Experience in public speaking and delivery of subject matter trainings.
- Ability to engage SMVF population, develop professional relationships, and advocate for those receiving services.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and lead teams while managing a high volume of work.
- Demonstrated knowledge of human services, behavioral health, rehabilitative, and other support service systems for veterans and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively with federal, state, and local officials including public and private providers in serving the SMVF community.
- Work experience in human services and/or behavioral healthcare field required; related field or combination of education, training, or experience may substitute.
- Experience in social work, psychology, human services, education, or approved field preferred; related field or combination of education, training, or experience may substitute.
- Military/veteran/family related life/work experience preferred; military experience preferred (includes family members).
