Role Description The Resident Monitor is a part-time, on-site role based in Montgomery, AL. This role is responsible for monitoring resident activities, ensuring compliance with facility rules, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment. Daily tasks include conducting regular headcounts, overseeing resident movement within the facility, and documenting any incidents or violations in accordance with established procedures. The Resident Monitor supports residents by providing clear guidance on expectations, reinforcing program rules, and communicating concerns or progress to supervisory staff.

Additional responsibilities may include performing security checks, assisting with intake and discharge processes, reporting emergencies or safety issues promptly, and collaborating with team members to support the overall mission of resident rehabilitation and community reintegration.

Qualifications

  • Ability to monitor resident behavior, enforce rules consistently, and respond calmly to incidents or emergencies.
  • Strong observation, attention to detail, and record-keeping skills for documenting activities, incidents, and compliance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with residents, staff, and partners.
  • Basic computer and administrative skills for completing reports, using facility systems, and following written procedures.
  • Capacity to work on-site in a structured environment, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Previous experience in corrections, social services, residential programs, or security is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in criminal justice, social work, or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to pass any required background checks, clearances, and training mandated by the organization and applicable regulations.
