Data Engineer – Washington, D.C.
Serves as a Software Production and Data Engineer responsible for building, operating, and maintaining high-performance services for platforms and products. This role involves writing code to create and maintain enterprise data integration pipelines, improving existing systems, collaborating with engineers on system design, diagnosing and resolving production issues, and handling the support and operations of software.
Responsibilities- Build, operate, and maintain high-performance services for platforms and products.
- Write code to build and maintain enterprise data integration pipelines.
- Improve existing systems and processes.
- Collaborate with engineers to design and advocate for systems architecture.
- Diagnose, resolve, and prevent production issues.
- Handle support and operations of software, including monitoring and alerting, configuration management, and upgrades.
- Roll out new products for customer deployments.
- Perform migrations to the latest infrastructure types.
- Debug, improve, and optimize services and infrastructure.
- Reduce manual operations by automating processes, runbooks, and workflows.
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Software Production Engineering and Data Engineering.
- Proficiency with Amazon Web Services and on-premises servers.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Bash, and Type Script/JavaScript.
- Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Experience with Prometheus and Grafana monitoring.
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch databases.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 Certification (Sec+, CISSP, etc.) and DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification.
- Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with CI Polygraph.
- Python: 3 years.
- Cloud architecture: 3 years.
- Software/Data engineering: 3 years.
- Salaries range from $150,000 to $200,000 per year.
