Data Center Project Engineer Controls SCADA
Montgomery, AL | On‑site | Contract‑to‑hire
Large‑scale data center program is seeking a mid‑level Project Engineer specializing in SCADA, HMI development, and control network architecture. Facilities include 30+ PLCs and multiple SCADA servers, requiring strong technical ownership and client‑facing confidence.
What you’ll do- Design, document, and support control network architecture for multi‑PLC, multi‑server facilities
- Own SCADA/HMI graphics development and issue resolution on Ignition and AVEVA System Platform
- Maintain consistency and reliability by adhering to established company and client standards
- Troubleshoot escalated graphics, communications, and SCADA performance issues
- Interface directly with the client and manage deliverables with limited daily direction
- 5–10 years of controls experience with specialization in SCADA/HMI platforms
- Strong experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation) or AVEVA System Platform
- Solid understanding of network architecture, Modbus communications, and controls fundamentals
- Independent, self‑directed, and comfortable working in a client‑facing environment
- Backgrounds in energy, oil & gas, data centers, or other large‑scale industrial control environments
