About the Role

The Class A CDL Driver is a vital position within our logistics team, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across designated routes. The driver will conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness, manage delivery schedules, and communicate with dispatch to ensure optimal route planning. The role requires adherence to all safety regulations and company policies while ensuring efficient and effective deliveries.

Safety is critical; the employee is responsible for their own safety and that of others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate 30‑45‑foot open‑top dump trailers (combination vehicles) and other DOT‑regulated vehicles in a regional footprint.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and perform basic repairs with hand tools.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic truck maintenance.
  • Use electronic logging devices for DOT logs and other required record‑keeping.
  • Maintain documentation (maintenance tickets, service tickets, etc.) and submit reports to appropriate parties.
  • Communicate regularly with customers, vendors, corporate office, and operations team to ensure seamless operations.
  • Report accidents and injuries immediately to the Safety Manager.
  • Work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 50 hours per week.
  • Participate in weekly safety calls, training, or briefings.
  • Use basic computer and cell phone functions for training, communication, and expense management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Current DOT medical card.
  • Clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Age 23 and over with 2 years of full‑time tractor‑trailer experience, or age 21 with 1 year of experience if graduate of a truck driving school or one year of military experience.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must pass the road test and hold a valid state license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with long‑haul driving.
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Previous experience in a logistics or transportation role.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Class CDL‑A in state license (preferred).
  • Class B with grapple truck experience or willingness to train.
  • Time management and route consistency.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency operating manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Experience using an electronic logging system such as People Net.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and basic computer/cell‑phone usage.
  • Proficient in reading and speaking English for official records and customer interactions.
  • Live within the defined hiring area and willing to park at the approved location.
  • No DUI, DWI or DOT drug/alcohol violations in the last 3 years.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing up to 70 lbs and bending, stooping, twisting, shoveling, or reaching overhead.
  • Tolerate unpleasant odors from food waste or farms.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
