Transportation Bus Drivers

qualifications:

• current alabama driver's license, commercial driver's license and insurable with mps insurance
  carrier.
• experience operating school buses desired.
• ability to communicate with the public or school age children preferred.

• operates school buses in accordance with alabama law and departmental regulations.
• conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned bus and equipment.
• allow only authorized personnel on the bus. Pick up and discharge passengers only at authorized stops.
• maintains discipline of students while on the bus. Reports violations and discrepancies to proper
  authorities.
• prepares and submits reports, timecards, etc. In accordance with departmental regulations.
• may assist special needs passengers in boarding and exiting the bus.
• cleans assigned vehicle; attends training and in-service activities.
• foster a positive relationship with parents and students.
• performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

special note: the person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.

special note: for employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
