Job Summary

Under routine supervision, this position ensures parts are available to truck and trailer technicians for repairs. The role manages inventory stock levels, performs audits, and submits orders to maintain an adequate supply of parts. It also maintains information systems and processes core and warranty returns per Company requirements. The position may require working outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts—including nights and/or weekends—along with overtime, and requires full‑time attendance.

Job Description

Applicants can be considered for I, II, or SR level Tractor Technician positions based on verified years of experience and position availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure parts are properly charged to the unit under repair.
  • Observe all Company safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Mentor and train other shop personnel.
  • Ensure compliance of safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, well‑ordered work environment free of trash and hazards.
  • Retain and ship parts per the Company’s Warranty Retention and Core Management procedures.
  • Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records and filing.
  • Maintain JBHT information systems in regard to parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage.
  • Ensure each unit has required inventory of equipment to determine usability and replacement of non‑functional equipment.
  • Conduct cycle counts and periodic inventories as required.
  • Receive inbound shipments of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity, absence of damage, and stock inbound parts to proper storage location while updating information systems.

Shifts may vary based on location and business needs. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and up to 12–18 months of direct experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.

  • Ability to make time‑sensitive decisions.

Compensation

Factors influencing starting pay include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications. The role may be eligible for an annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable.
