About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operation Manager to work in our start-up food hub environment. As such you will contribute to our mission of growing the local food economy by committing to the management of the overall warehouse operation and our diverse teams within, ensuring that our members receive the best groceries in Pittsburgh every single week!
Responsibilities- Implement and uphold lean manufacturing strategies to boost efficiency, diminish waste, and enhance overall warehouse functionality.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to align lean methodologies across broader operational procedures.
- Manage daily warehouse activities to align with HACCP guidelines and other crucial food safety standards.
- Execute regular audits and risk evaluations to pinpoint improvement opportunities in warehouse operations and food safety measures.
- Cultivate a team of warehouse personnel, championing a culture of ongoing enhancement, teamwork, and excellence.
- Formulate and oversee aggressive yet achievable key performance indicators (KPIs) with lean initiatives and HACCP compliance in mind.
- Optimize inventory management, warehouse layout, and logistics to improve storage solutions and reduce lead times.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and ensure a high level of employee engagement.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest in lean manufacturing, food warehousing, and HACCP standards, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with preferred certifications in lean manufacturing and HACCP.
- Demonstrated expertise in warehouse management, underscored by a profound knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and HACCP protocols.
- In-depth understanding of food warehousing regulations and safety norms.
- Proven leader with the ability to guide a team towards multiple goals simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Able to foster and support an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds and lifestyles are welcomed.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills with a strong aptitude for applying lean methodologies to drive operational progress.
- Effective communicator, adept at working with a variety of stakeholders.
- The ability to think analytically for interpreting data, identifying trends, and making data‑driven decisions to improve operational efficiency.
Position:
Full‑time, salaried employee
Location:
Pittsburgh, PA (in‑person)
Schedule:
8‑hour shift, day shift, Monday to Friday
Salary Range: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
