Job Requirements:- Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program, in Allied Health
- Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
- RDCS designation from ARDMS or RCS designation from CCI.
- Highly developed understanding of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics
- Clinical experience in a related field
- Clinical hours during training
This position is responsible for performing Transthoracic Echocardiograms, TEE, Stress Echo and Doppler, etc., as well as processing corresponding paperwork and charging. This position also participates in the training, direction, and education of new technologists and students when applicable, and participates in quality and process improvement activities.
Job Responsibilities:- Works with the cardiologists/Lead Techs to ensure that the quality standards are being met.
- Reports any equipment, PACS, or report data issues.
- Ensures patient safety and timely processing and verification of images and accompanying paperwork and/or computer work such as echo measurements, data entry into reports, critical findings, charging, etc.
- Helps with other department duties as necessary: work with nurses, technicians, and clerical staff and is a team player.
- Takes call if applicable and demonstrates competency by providing clear and accurate technical images.
- Takes appropriate and accurate measurements.
- Able to inject Echo contrast and Agitated Saline per appropriate protocol and image.
- Conveys to the physician any necessary information.
- Answers phone promptly and communicate with all customers appropriately.
- Seeks resolutions to requests, whether adding additional testing or needing reports.
- Explains delays to patients.
- Wearing lead aprons for all procedural Echo testing that is required within and/or near X‑Ray Generating Equipment.
