As a Registered Nurse in the Bethesda North Cardiovascular Pre/Post, you will provide both direct and indirect holistic care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
You will apply the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and support patients and their families throughout their procedural experience. In this highly collaborative environment, you will work closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, timely, and compassionate care.
You will also delegate appropriate tasks to team members under your supervision in alignment with the nursing scope of practice. This role requires strong critical‑thinking skills, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional cardiovascular care.

Job Requirements- Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required)
- New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire (Required)
- Registered Nurse (Required)
- Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
- ACLS/PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department (Preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Demonstrates organizational responsibilities and identifies areas for self‑improvement through self‑assessment and peer review.
- Functions in roles and provides leadership on the unit as needed and requested; cooperates with instructor to facilitate learning experiences for students.
- Supports organizational activities by participating in committees, staff meetings, councils; utilizes chain of command appropriately.
- Builds collegial relationships with physicians and other health team members and demonstrates autonomy in identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Evaluates plan of care for patient based on optimal specific patient outcomes; documents patient/family response to care including teaching.
- Collaborates with patient/family and other members of the health care team, including physicians, to revise plan of care as needed; supervises care delegated to other team members.
- Implements plan of care for patient; provides a safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights.
- Determines plan of care based on ethical principles; acts as patient advocate; delivers care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner.
- Prioritizes workload; recognizes emergency situations, notifies appropriate personnel, and initiates emergency measures.
- Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family; documents ongoing assessment per unit/Tri Health guidelines; communicates assessment findings to other providers; includes health counseling and teaching needs.
- Performs technical skills; safely administers medications/treatments and monitors their effects; uses equipment safely.
- Plans care based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes; initiates appropriate patient care guidelines; updates plan as needed.

- Updates current plan of care as needed based on patient/family input and healthcare needs; develops short‑ and long‑term goals with patient/family and healthcare team, including discharge planning; communicates plan of care to others.
