  • Bethesda North Hospital – Employee Health
Work Schedule:
  • Part
    - Time (48 hours bi-weekly)
  • Day Shift – 6:30am-4:30pm
  • No weekends or holidays

Job Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • 2 - 3 years experience Clinical – Nursing experience in Occupational Medicine, Employee Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and/or Medical Surgical. (Required)
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of Biological, Physical, Behavioral, Social, and Nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
  • Preferred active participation in applicable specialty professional organization
  • Registered Nurse Required
Job Overview:
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and safety of team members in the workplace. Combines clinical expertise with knowledge of occupational health, infection control, and workplace safety regulations for a healthcare organization. Promotes system compliance with applicable regulations. Accountable for daily operations and throughput of the department in conjunction with leadership. Serves as a resource for team members, leaders, and Human Resources, helping to ensure a healthy work environment through assessment, intervention, and education.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to HIPAA privacy requirements. Maintains accurate health records of all team members, ensures confidentiality, and complies with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Handles confidential information according to policy and with professionalism. Adheres to the Tri Health Code of Ethical Business and Professional Behavior.
  • Performs specialty/department specific skills and competencies. Interprets and executes provider orders. In the absence of leadership, directs unit activities in which safe, clinically competent care is provided. Delegates care to other team members within the scope of nursing practice and licensure. Maintains and improves current knowledge in area of practice through continuing education.
  • Conducts pre-employment physical evaluations and ongoing assessments for team members. Identifies health risks and recommends appropriate interventions. Administers vaccines and maintains records of presumptive immunity. Educates team members on infection control practices. Evaluates and manages workplace injuries, exposures, and illnesses. Provides first aid and coordinates further medical care.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in the decision-making process. Accepts accountability for actions taken. Utilizes the chain of command appropriately. Facilitates team member movement through the system to achieve desired outcomes. Maintains open communication through relaying information in a timely and consistent manner to all customers. Builds collegial relationships with other members of the healthcare team through exceptional customer service. Works in partnership with Human Resources to support team member’s overall employee health needs.

    Collaborates with leave of absence and workers' compensation case managers to promote wellness and reduce absence.
  • Assists Employee Health Leadership in developing, updating and implementing department specific guidelines, processes and procedures. Evaluates appointment schedule for next business day to ensure appropriate supplies, staffing and resources are available.
