Weyerhaeuser is searching for an Operational Area Technical Coordinator to join our new Timberstrand facility in Monticello, AR. This is a full-time, hourly production position and reports to the Operations Manager. The Operational Area Technical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance, reliability, and operational activities within their assigned area to ensure equipment is maintained in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and operates safely and reliably.

This role serves as a key link between Operations, Maintenance, Planning, and Reliability functions to support production goals and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety by complying with all site safety requirements, including participation in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space entry, and other applicable safety procedures as required by training and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with the Planner/Scheduler to coordinate and schedule maintenance activities necessary to maintain equipment in accordance with OEM specifications.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new employees within the assigned area.
  • Coordinate and oversee work performed within the area of responsibility.
  • Own and actively participate in the maintenance backlog management process.
  • Develop and coordinate down-day and annual outage schedules for equipment within the assigned area.
  • Maintain effective communication with other OTACs, Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians, Reliability personnel, and Managers.
  • Partner with the Reliability Manager to improve equipment reliability and support continuous improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility.
  • Conduct routine assessments of equipment and operating conditions to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Complete required daily logs and operational records, both electronic and paper based.
  • Own and participate in the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) process to reduce repeat downtime, efficiency, and quality losses.
  • Utilize SAP systems to create and follow work notifications, and progress toward operational fluency.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in two or more of the following:
• Wood products manufacturing, including operation of log processing, drying, press, or finishing equipment
• Manufacturing or industrial leadership
• CMMS work order, inventory, or maintenance management systems
• Pneumatic or hydraulic systems

Additional

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of equipment operation within one or more of the following areas: log processing, drying, press or finishing equipment and an understanding of equipment reliability principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the Monticello organization.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ownership of equipment health to include following the Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) process to perform basic maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to accept and respond to after-hour calls, work weekends/holidays as needed.
